Curfew approaches!

Every year Pete Jez hosts the Curfew festival, and every year he says it's the last time. So he's clearly a degenerate liar, but besides that a decent sort.

Here's the class poster. Oh, and we're on it, in case you hadn't ascertained the relevance of this post!

Next weekend!

Scuzz TV have been playing us...

We'd like them to play us a whole lot more though. So, if you want to feed our fevered egos email requests@scuzz.tv and ask them to show Black Bear Saloon: Face The Future.
Exactly like the one below, but on the telly!

Face The Future single released!

It's finally available to buy!

We'll have it up on iTunes and everywhere else soon enough (3-4 weeks), but we're using Bandcamp first for all the reasons Ron detailed on this thread he started on Fastfude.

We're only asking a minimum payment of 99p (but you can pay more!) - for this you get two tracks:

A: Face The Future

and

B: Al Bronco, which has had its guitars re-recorded by Peter, who wasn't in the band when the song was first laid down, so think of it as a new mix!

You also get our music video, which is in iPhone/PSP/loads-of-stuff format, and the artwork for the single in a PDF (front and back covers). However, the front cover is embedded into the tracks so that it's there for you when you drag it into iTunes, Windows Media Player or whatever you use, as is all the meta-data, lyrics etc.

Speaking of artwork, we should thank PJ Holden for his great rendition of the bears on the front cover, Rick Trainor for the photograph on the back cover and Ryan O'Reilly for designing the Black Bear Saloon logo ages ago.

Back Cover

So that's the pitch - all the money you pay goes to us, minus what PayPal charges for receiving monies (dammit!), so we'd rather people bought via Bandcamp than other sites, but as long as you throw us cash via some means we'll still be friends.

Thanks everyone for all your support up to now!

Belfast4Haiti Gig

Marty, the gent who made our marvellous music video, made this video of the massive Belfast4Haiti gig that took place in the Limelight Complex on the 31st of January.

Ron was one of the organisers of the gig, and you can see him and his perfectly straight hair in an interview at the start - we also make a live appearance at the end.

It's a great document of a great day.

A Bunch of Serious Men

Yesterday we had some photos taken by snapper-extraordinaire Rick Trainor of Red Sky Photography

Shoots with Rick are always great fun, no matter where they are. Get in touch with him if you need something eye-catching done with little or no fuss. Or lots of fuss - he's well capable of complex set-ups. Just have a look at his blog for many great examples of his work.

Face The Future - the Music Video!

Well, it's here:

and we couldn't be prouder of it!

Huge thanks to Marty Stalker for writing, directing and editing, Rich Trainor for putting the camera in the right place, Richard Lavery for lighting the sucker and a big thanks to Moyah Lavery for enduring the central role of Goldie. It can't have been pleasant.

Thanks are also due to Rus' girlfriend and jewellery designer/creator extraordinaire Catherine B. for getting the bear masks to look so creepy - trust us, they were positively friendly when they arrived in the post!

Thanks also to the owners of the Ballyboley Inn, the Snook family, Ron's dad, James Morrison, Ann Summers (for selling really long hand-cuffs!) and anyone else who pitched in to help but who we've forgotten!

The track will be released soon as a single backed by Al Bronco and will be available with the music video in iPhone/PSP/Whatever format.

Watch it again.
